This is my corner of the new high definition control room at WFTS TV. This Grass Valley Group Kalypso TV production switcher internally incorporates many of the external devices that were necessary with the older standard definition switcher. For example, it includes six channels of digital picture manipulation, eight channels of still or full-motion video playback and four keyers per mix-effect bus. Although there were some growing pains, this switcher has performed reliably on-air since its installation in July of 2007.
